Axsera partners with Seaside Communications—a regional network provider in Atlantic Canada—to implement high-capacity system design to handle increased network traffic during pandemic
Seaside Communications (based in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and now owned by Rogers Communications) deployed over twenty (20) SIAE Microelettronica ALFO Plus 2 backhaul links across its network over the past two years. With the arrival of COVID-19, Seaside’s fixed wireless network saw unprecedented increases in network traffic due to employees working remotely from home. In taking advantage of SIAE’s true dual-core radio supporting 4096 QAM, inherent L1 aggregation with XPIC capability, Seaside was able to significantly increase its microwave link capacity from 400M bps aggregate with previous unlicensed links, to 1.4 Gbps symmetrical with the SIAE radio links.
Combining SIAE’s technology and Axsera’s support and service during trying pandemic times, Seaside was still able to deploy this upgrade in the forecasted time frame.
To support even higher throughput needs, SIAE ALFO Plus 2 can scale to support even higher bandwidths (up to 10Gbps) with a SIAE Multi-band Solution which also can take advantage of XPIC capabilities and the new 80GHz licensing structure in Canada.
